Research, neutrality and corrections
Historical reliability is a product feature. Claims are sourced, uncertainty is visible, and disputed identity questions are attributed rather than decided through editorial preference.
We prioritise primary texts in reputable editions; peer-reviewed specialist research; university projects and reference works; major museum and excavation records; and recognised human-rights or genocide scholarship for modern events. Orientation sources are not the final authority for substantive claims.
Royal inscriptions, chronicles, laws, letters and survivor testimony are read in context. A king’s victory claim, a state report and a later memory each answer different questions. Translation, genre, political purpose and gaps are disclosed where they affect interpretation.
We distinguish fact from interpretation, name the scholar or institution behind a contested position, and explain what evidence cannot establish. Community self-identification is not treated as a philological error.
Governments, armies, parties, organisations and individuals are named instead of blaming entire ethnic or religious populations. Genocide, massacre, displacement and persecution are described precisely and without sensational imagery.
Corrections
A useful correction identifies the page URL, quotes the exact claim, states the suggested change and links checkable evidence. The contact channel must be verified before this publication invites submissions. Meaningful changes will update the article date and be recorded here; minor spelling and formatting fixes may be made silently.
4 October 2026 — Names, routing and service disclosures. Replaced unsupported popularity labels, deduplicated the catalogue, corrected Sargon’s debated interpretation in the shared data, and separated lexical meanings from personal-name attestation. Removed advertising and visit-measurement loaders while consent configuration is reviewed. Corrected About’s earlier contradictory disclosure.
